Esomeprazole is used to treat conditions such as post-menopausal women with congenital esophagitis, gastric ulcer associated with esophageal adenocarcinoma, atrophic�, gastric cancer, atrophicaroo, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and other conditions caused by an abnormal breakdown of the body’s protective barrier. It is also used to treat symptoms of peptic ulcer in patients who have them before they started on a stomach acid-suppressive therapy and to prevent ulcer formation in stomach ulcers caused by excessive stomach acid. Esomeprazole should only be taken by patients who are hypersensitive to any type of stomach acid. If gastric or duodenal ulcers occur, this drug should be stopped. Do not take esomeprazole if you are taking other types of antacids, sucralfate, sucralfate diuretics or sucralfate calcium. Health officials in New Jersey have approved a heart drug that is used to treat high blood pressure, according to a news release.
